Dan Mackarevich Named Cyber COPE Insurance Certification Designee

West Chester’s Mackarevich Among a Select Group to Be Named a Cyber COPE Insurance Certification Designee by Chubb and Carnegie Mellon University
(West Chester, PA – March 2019) — Daniel P. Mackarevich of Arthur Hall Insurance in West Chester, PA and Hockessin, DE has been awarded the Chubb Cyber COPE Insurance CertificationSM (CCIC) designation from Chubb and Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.
Mr. Mackarevich is among a group of insurance professionals this year to complete the seven-month certification program, which educates the participants about industry best practices in cyber security risk management, governance, and operations. Created by Chubb and CMU’s Heinz College in 2018, the CCIC program is the first of its kind for agents and brokers. Major topics covered included cyber security foundations, cyber risk and resilience management, effective incident response, cyber law and regulation, and developing custom insurance solutions.
“We designed this unique program to provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the constantly evolving cyber risk landscape and to provide hands-on practical cyber security solutions,” said Bobbie Goldie, Senior Vice President, North America Financial Lines at Chubb. “Agents and brokers who have completed the program have demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the cyber security landscape so they can help their clients manage their cyber risk exposures.”
“I am absolutely thrilled Dan was selected to participate in and successfully completed the prestigious Chubb Cyber COPE Insurance Certification program,” says Arthur Hall Insurance President James S. Denham, CPCU, CIC.  “His certification places him among an elite group of brokers nationally, with the knowledge to advise their clients about the Cyber Liability landscape at the highest level. Dan’s dedication to achieving his designation is a striking example of the Agency’s commitment to continuous improvement in commercial insurance knowledge allowing us to provide the most robust risk management consultation to our clients.
The courses were provided by Chubb professionals and faculty from CMU’s Heinz College, comprising industry leading experts and practitioners in cybersecurity. As part of the certification program, participants developed an engagement strategy and a custom solution for a chosen organization that was designed to allow participants to apply several of the methods, tools, and techniques taught during the program.
To maintain the designation, participants are required to attend two virtual sessions each year.
